Bz Snakin around....SsssSSsss

Rushed & bz weekend, sending off relatives for Haj, wedding...but we managed to catch a movie "Step-Up Revolution" (which has been airing for 2 mths), window-shopping @Somerset, J has been eyeing for the smart Chinos @Uniqlo -$69.90 so he choked & decided to wait for sale :p

Heavy downpour these few days so most peeps juz patronised the malls & cinemas. We missed a friend's event & even missed chillin out wif frens & families. When it poured, everyone seems to b all-over, stuck in every crooks & crannies.

Anyway, i was thrilled to shop for this snake-print shawl..S$21.90 from SIX@Bugis. argh, i rarely splurge on shawls but i'd bn sourcin for this so i was delighted to even stretch my budget for this.

Hepi 4-day work week peeps!

Hv u got ur turban...yet?

It's 4am & i cldnt blink an eye... After my return from the recent Jakarta trip, i've bn havin a bout of insomnia..weird, time difference is juz an hr, so unlike Europe. Perhaps, i've bn overwhelmed by the hejab styling while i was there. Most of the bystanders were don in beautiful layers of hejab, fashionable dressing...I'm in awe. inspired. empowered.

it's not i can do anythin abt it. i dnt sell. i dnt design. but i do shop. a lot. especially during overseas trips. so, the next thing i can do..is to style. my style. in style hejab :p

pardon my rantings, i'm juz high without sleep.

i never liked turbans before. coz i'm not even indian. where i come from, only Indians wear turbans. in other parts of the world - the arabs, jamaicans, africans, afghans...
in singapore, 2 prominent Malay artistes wear turbans.

recently, i've observed more Muslimahs wearing turbans but i've never seen beautiful don ones. most of them wore too bulky. but Anisa magazine changed my perception. the lady on the cover pg is the daughter-in-law of a popular politician in Indonesia.

i've yet to read the articles. why i buy mag - see the pics, not to read. if i wana read, i've loads of novels & other genre of books to read!

anyway, here's my version of turban-styling. it was impromptu, while sisters & i had a mini project runway (wannabe)...i simply tilted my head downwards like how i usually dry my hair wif a towel, twisted the 2 ends of the shawls together, then tucked them in. Ta-da! Turban's done.

o yea, i dnt understand y people exposed their necks when they could hv worn turtlenecks or 'ninjas' instead. as much as styling is concerned, pls cover ur 'aurah' tat's the whole purpose of wearing a hejab.

btw, bloggin is good - like sleepin pills...now my eyes r droopy. great, i can hv forty winks before my hub wakes up. tks for keepin me company. here's my turban look, sorry no make-up. thank u berry nice :)

P/s-will snap few pics of the hejab styles featured in these mags soon, insyaallah.

Come Pimp My Ride

During my recent trip to Jakarta, we stayed @Morrissey Serviced Apartment, it was the best we had so far. love the vintage, shabby interior, they claimed it's Dutch Colonial..well, i cnt disagree more. I'll post more pics soon..meanwhile, enjoy the tangerine scooter!

Project Runway...

Our recent trip to Jakarta seemed a lil' different from usual. This time, we scouted Muslimah boutiques - House of Ria Miranda & Moshaict. We were pleased with our fruitful trip as both boutiques turned out beyond our expectation. Array of beautiful, soft pastels lined the aisle, we cldnt even bear to rummage through the stuff.

Wished i could hv shopped more but they hv limited colours/pieces/sizes so i could juz be grateful with 2 maxi skirts, 1 chiffon jacket/cardigan, 1 ruffled chiffon blouse & few shawls. The best part, i love them all & wish I can hv multiple colours which unfortunately not available :(

Anyway, afterall that legwork...we stayed up till 3am!...juz to hv our little project runway as we cldnt contain our overwhelmin enthusiasm. Let's hv a peep, thank u...berry nice :p

Instylehejab takes House of Ria Miranda!

We made it to House Of Ria Miranda's Boutique finally...after an hr 'bluebird' ride & burnt 50 000rp. thankfully, no 'macet'. pleased to survive the ordeal, we were greeted with lovely Ms Ria Miranda herself! definitely muz return visit soon :)

Now...i'm aware i've not been blogging for almost 2yrs (gosh! time really flies) but i hope this time i get to do it 'religiously'. Will try to update more. Laters, baby...
